DIALOGUE : A collection...explores the process of ‘creation’ and ‘criticism’ correlating them in order to emit out an aesthetic appeal...In the poem ‘Making Of A Poet’, he raises a question: whether poetry makes a poet or a poet makes poetry. Is it possible to instruct the hand to move or make a poem? Certainly not. ‘The Absent Poem’ very imaginatively presents the situation when the poet’s mind clicks the idea but the idea slips the mind as he searches for “a misplaced pen” .

Indeed, Vihang A Naik’s slender volume Making A Poem is a kind of observations on poetry. The collection gives poetic pleasure of creation as well as the logic of poetic criticism. The twenty five poems require a careful reading from the reader who is expected to bring head to decipher the technique and heart to feel the substance in order to have the true pleasure of the reading.
